Malaysia's Participation in SIAL Paris 2018

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will spearhead Malaysia's participation in SIAL Paris 2018 trade fair from 21- 25 October 2018 in an effort to boost Malaysia's exports of Food & Beverages (F&B) products to Europe.
The Malaysia Pavilion will feature the brands of 38 Malaysian exporters and will also house three government bodies namely the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Malaysian Palm Oil Council and Malaysian Pepper Board. This would be Malaysia's 13th participation at the event. During SIAL Paris 2016, the Malaysian companies at the event had successfully generated an export sales valued at USD11.8 million.
The participating Malaysian exporters will be offering a wide range of products such as coconut-based products, coffee, tea & cocoa, Ready-to-Eat meals, beverages, noodles, confectioneries, cooking oil, frozen food, sauce & paste and functional food.
MATRADE, Malaysia's trade promotion agency, is leveraging on the trade fair as a means to capitalise the growing demand for new and innovative F&B products in the EU and its surrounding region. Apart from promoting Malaysian products, the participation in SIAL Paris will provide a greater opportunity for the Malaysian companies to learn the latest trends in the market.
According to MATRADE's Trade Commissioner to Frankfurt, Mr. Badrul Hisham, Malaysian F&B products are well-recognised for their quality and innovativeness. "In Europe, Malaysia is known to produce world-class F&B products that have the highest quality, are safe and Halal too," he said.
At the event, MATRADE anticipates that the Malaysian Halal F&B to garner the most attraction. "Malaysia's Halal F&B products are exported worldwide to not only the Muslim countries but to the non-majority Muslim countries too.
